Connecting RJ Communities
Connecting RJ Communities is a family engagement program built on restorative justice principles and practices with a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed lens.
About us
Connecting RJ communities, LLC is an organization that advocates for Latino families in the Latino communities of Chicago by introducing a family engagement program in creating safe spaces: circles.
Within this circle, families that agree to participate will be invited to share their stories designed by trained RJ practitioners, called Circle Keepers. Circle keepers will guide the group through the rituals of circles, leading to transformation, healing, and accessing assets.

Connecting RJ Communities honors the unique strengths and challenges of every individual and community and works to expand and support everyone’s right to shape their own lives and to create a collective ability to shape their communities by partnering with all who work to identify, create, and strengthen their communities in the service of their mission statements.
"It's relationships, not programs, that change children.
Young people thrive when adults care about them on a one-to-one level and when they have a sense of belong to a caring community: family."

Restorative Justice

According to John Braithwaite, restorative justice is: "...a process where all stakeholders affected by an injustice have an opportunity to discuss how they have been affected by the injustice and to decide what should be done to repair the harm".
